What you expect from The Moonsea?

Eh, those who don't know me and the kind of person I am will soon enough.

As for Moonsea, always thought Bane was the god of evil with the most potential for awesome RP and I've decided to take it in a diffrent direction for NWN2, then where it usually goes.

Anyways what I want to see most in Moonsea is a strong Banite faction. A true lawful evil society, with Zhents patrolling the walls in black armor, slave markets.

I'm not sure if I should play my group here since Bane is consolidating the church and splinter groups would be frowned on, so it'd be pretty hard to make a diffrence there, but I am sure the server will be great.

Hey guys, looks good in here, and totally up to par so far.
I go by the nick of Balathul on the other forums, and am all over this server when it goes up. Would've played it if alfa had one to play, rather than Sembia, and the others.
I'm actually more of a Bhaal fan, but, love Bane almost as much. Been playing, and reading FR for close to 20 years, and have DMed most of it. Still new to your community, but am here to stay, as long as the quality I've seen thus far stays.

I love the Moonsea, in all its aspects, from the Keep, to Mulmaster, and from Phlan, to Yulash. Really hoping we can do justice to Zhentil Keep, as well as bring Mulmaster to life, as it should be, being the second largest city on the shores of the Sea. Time will tell, but, I think it will be done as alot of PCs just won't be able to resist the danger the Moonsea holds.

With the Black Network taking a firm hold of Mulmaster, Fzoul has full control of the region pretty much, and that means Banes power grows even moreso. The Red Wizards have noticed this(used to DM Thay PnP), have already established a large enclave in Mulmaster, and are now eyeing up the rest of the region. Could have issues with Shar and the Shadovar over in the anaurcoch, but, she and the Black Hand may very well just leave each other be. Will be fun to bring this to life, or death.

Anyhow, just wanted to give you props for doing this, and I'm on board all the way.

Hello All......I am a 34 year old original 1rst addition PnPer......played on paper only until second addition and have never read any of the novels/modules......my attraction to ALFA had nothing to do with it's intentions to duplicate FR...it came down to a mature community with the closest thing to real PnP based D&D style internet gaming I could find/permadeath environment............I personally had always enjoyed playing or dungeonmastering as a Tyrant.....which is why I gravitated towards Bane as a PC....loving the whole concept and learning as I go....I think I fit the bill as far as RP goes and I want to use it as a DM come NWN 2.........I plan to try a different type of PC concept.....But I plan to dm more then play and can't wait for this group to click..it sounds like we got a great bunch here.....we should gel nicely....*nods with a fat grin in expectation*

Hey folks,

you may remember seeing me kicking around alfa over the last coupla years.

I'm keen on teh Moonsea for the purpose of building plots and settings around Faerun's premier evil faction. The main parts of this I am looking forward to, are the multi-layer intrigues we can weave to ensure the Zhentarim take their rightful place as teh most feared faction in the realms. >

Intrigues between Manshoon, Fzoul, the Beholders, the Church of Bane, the Red Plumes, the Dalesfolk, the Mulmasterites, etc. are all going to create a pulse-racing adventuring environment for our willing victims.. or players as some like to call them.

I used to DM/build the goodie-twoshoes Cormyr server and I have a whole lot of residual ebulness to express now.

Bring on teh Zhents.

Greetings all. As many of you, I've been playing/DMing DND through its various editions and roaming its various PW itterations for the past several years. My ALFA time has been a bit sparse of late, but the fast approaching NWN2 and the ALFA-Moonsea project have me stoked. Looking forward to adding whatever I can to place Moonsea at the pinnacle of FR-online greatness.

Hello all, Ive been with alfa for a couple of years dming much and dabbling with playing a PC's. I guess what draws me most to the Moonsea, is my induction in CRPG's from SSI <defunct company>

Hillsfar
Curse of the Azure Bonds

and others

I have sat down briefly for pnp sessions, starting off with the first edition playing in Greyhawk, then the second edition and third in Faerun.

Out of all the areas on Faerun, the Moonsea is my favorite, Bane is my fav evil diety, Fzoul one of my favorite NPC's, and who can't love the cold-blooded wizard Maalthiir and his Red Plume Guard.

Ahem. I've Enjoyed playing evil characters for a long time. Playing evil allows me to excape from my usual day-to-day goodiness that rules my life and express parts of my personality that would be socially inacceptable.

I played a Zhentarim Banite for two years on ALFA and it was my favorite character. The perfect mix of law and chaos. The balance between absolute loyalty to the organisation and cut-throat treachery to everyone else. The Zhentarim is an organisation that, I think, if it weren't for Wizards "Good guys must win!" policy, could actually accomplish the feat of world domination.

I like the idea of a campaign setting where the tables are turned -- the whole area is ruled by an evil dictatorship and the "good guys" need to work in secret. We can have our own little slice of this in ALFA2.

Hi, I'm Baalster. Most of you know me from ALFA as the HDM of Whitehorn, which from the start was a compromise.

Here's the short story: I was playing on Daggerdale while I was (with permission from the current admins) building Hillsfar. My first choice of server has always been Zhentil Keep, but that too was taken. Then someone applied for, and got Hillsfar, and I went together with some Daggerdale DMs and applied for Border Forest, which at the time was a seperate server area. What we didn't know was that it already was Daggerdale's expansion area. So in order to fill a gap between two servers, I chose Whitehorn. A location with little or no canon available.

Now, with our eyes set on Moonsea as a whole, it's imperative to bring Zhentil Keep into the game. It has always bugged me that the main villains of Faerun never had their rightful place in ALFA. So it's a new dawn with NWN2. It's time... We got the team, the skills and the keen drive to make it happen.

My main commitment will come as the game goes gold and we see what we can do with it. With 30-something areas, the plan for a full implementation of Moonsea may be sunk before the start, but until this is comfirmed, there is no need to slow down on the preparations. This forum is part of that, and we do welcome everyone's contributions - big or small - to make Moonsea one of the first servers in ALFA using the NWN2 engine.

Hello folks,

Those of you who know me may be surprised to see me affiliated with such an evil-oriented server. For those that don't know me, its because since joining ALFA back in 2004 I've been playing a Paladin of Torm, who has become fairly well known.

Well, sadly, those days are fast approaching their end. What happens when a person releases their evil side after nearly three years of being cooped in a goody-goody Paladin you ask? I imagine something like THIS.



Seriously though, the Moonsea region has always been symbolic for me. It was the old TSR novel "Pool of Radiance" that first introduced me to the Forgotten Realms. As such, the city of Phlan in particular holds a special place in my heart.

What I hope to see in ALFA2's Moonsea is both a visually stunning server and a great place for some of the most notorious factions in Faer?n to play. Between the Zhents, the Red Plumes, the Cyricists, and the slavers, it can be argued that the only people who scheme more than the residents of the Moonsea are the drow of the Underdark.

I'm truly looking forward to working on this ambitious project.
